What is an Algorithm in 30 Seconds?
An algorithm is simply a series of instructions.
Think of a recipe: boil water, add pasta, wait, drain, eat. These are steps to follow.
In computer terms, an algorithm is a set of instructions for a computer to execute.
In machine learning, these instructions enable computers to learn from data, making machine learning algorithms unique and powerful.

I've just finished episode 5 of Vivant, and I have to say, I really love and appreciate the mix of languages on this show. You just KNOW that if this show were American, all the "Balkan"/Mongolian characters would be speaking English with a foreign accent for the convenience of the audience. So I absolutely love this show's choice to have huge chunks of the show's dialogue delivered in Mongolian, including lines by the Japanese main characters, and to simply subtitle it in Japanese. No handwaving about how the main characters' foreign contacts just happen to speak Japanese with no expectation that the main characters might also speak Mongolian. No, instead, all the main characters speak Mongolian and English (and Arabic maybe, in Nogi's case?) in addition to Japanese, none of the Americans speak Japanese, only the Balkan/Mongolian characters for whom it makes sense that they would speak Japanese speak Japanese, and the language of the scene is chosen based on what language would most likely be used in that situation in real life. Convenience for the audience is simply not a consideration. And I love it!

over the past few days I've switched from watching lots of cleaning videos (which was good because they made me want to clean - though that effect is still there for now) to sewing videos (which is very very bad because now I want to sew more and get a sewing machine that actually works right (I got mine used for like 50€ and it's very basic and a lot of things just keep breaking/not working (which is probably at least in part because I don't know enough about using it correctly)))
#I'm not good at sewing#I don't know what I'm doing at all#but it's sooo much fun (until my stupid sewing machine breaks and I have to spend the rest of the day figuring that out)#I really want to learn how to make clothes and stuff but I won't even try with this sewing machine#now to be clear it's an alright sewing machine and it mostly works fine if you just want to sew a straight line on thin non-stretchy#fabric and never change the yarn.#*thread (I keep mixing those up because they're the same word in German so it's very confusing)#but anything even slightly more complicated or anything with thicker fabric does not work. I've tried so many needles and settings and#solutions I found online#and it just never works consistently#I'm not spending money to get it fixed professionally. no matter how little it would cost it's not worth it#unfortunately I've already found a beginner computer sewing machine and it's expensive (though much less expensive than I would have#thought) and I don't know if I'll be able to get it anytime soon but I really want it 😔😔😔#but ugh the thought of not having to thread the needle anymore and not putting the bobbin in in the front and fixing all the problems that#come with that is sooo nice#oh yeah my machine also refuses to work with thicker/stronger thread. I've figured out that it does work most of the time if it's just the#bobbin thread.#but like. I don't want to spend hours learning how to fix this stupid machine all the time! I want to learn how to use it to sew!#so yeah this isn't going to work long term.#ugh my dad's ex (the most awful person I've ever met) was a trained seamstress. damn I should have made her teach me 😔 then she would've#been good for something at least instead of just giving me a bunch of additional trauma 🙃#(but yay at least it seems like I finally don't associate sewing with her and feel terrified just thinking about it anymore!)#personal

I agree with Alto here. Even though I use AI for quick source lists (websites I can use to read the info myself) + you know me from writing example messages, it's incredibly disappointing that someone's trying to encourage other people to ditch basic skills of text presentation just bEcAUse.
It's something you are taught at school, uni and work if you pay attention. It isn't necessarily something you learn from a book (though you can), but so easy to be carved into your brain when your prof boinks you by your essay telling you it lacks structure. Then you yourself find that readability is a key to comprehension and become that one prof.
With advancement of AI I found myself, first and foremost, teaching my kids logic and ways to think critically. I repeat again and again that you MUST check your sources and make sure they are OFFICIAL because, let's be frank, these days everything can turn out to be a convincing hallucination by some LM.
Confidence is a good thing to have. But rigid, narrow state of mind can be harmful.
Analysing @illiterate-oscillating-rat's statements, I can present you a theory that:
1) This person lacks either education or soft skills—judging by their lack of logic and a poor attempt into cinematic inductive reasoning [e.g. all LLMs use em dashes => all the texts with em dashes are written by LLMs];
2) Barely knows anything about Neural Networks and Large Language Models—considering their strong belief that bots can't be trained to add sarcastic comments, they can with fine-tuning and certain input;
3) Is a quite narrow-minded individual—prefers to spit information from their perspective only— e.g. [A couple of people and I write like this => we're humans (presumably) => everyone writes like this];
4) Is extremely biased, avoids further dialogue by "
Tumblr media
", adamant in their assumptions without actual study of the topic in hand and additional sources (14h of only Tumblr? Gods bless your soul).
But that's just a 'imho' theory based on a single post, feel free to refute, though, please, avoid sending hate to this person. Hating is mweh. It's a public discussion, let's keep it respectful.
Tl;dr
I strongly DO NOT recommend trusting such people. Check your sources, use your head, take multiple facts and opinions into consideration.
P.S. Wrote allat because misinformation is something I don't quite like much.
"this is DEFINITELY written by AI, I can tell because it uses the writing quirks that AI uses (because it was trained on real people who write with those quirks)"
c'mon dudes we have got to do better than this

The Frame Problem: AI's Unseen Nemesis
The frame problem is AI's Achilles' heel, lurking since the 1960s and still unresolved.
1. The Robot Dilemma
Daniel Dennett's thought experiment illustrates the issue: a robot must save its battery from a room with a bomb.
Initially, the robot pulls the battery on a cart but also drags the bomb out, unaware of this side effect.
Solution attempts include programming awareness of side effects, leading to analysis paralysis as the robot debates endless possibilities.
2. The Side Effect Spiral
When programmed to consider all side effects, the robot wastes time on irrelevant details—like pondering wall color changes.
This shows how difficult it is for AI to filter relevant from irrelevant information without getting bogged down.
3. Human Intuition vs. AI Logic
Humans effortlessly ignore irrelevant details, making quick decisions in complex contexts.
Programming AI to mimic this selective ignorance is resource-intensive and remains a significant challenge.
The frame problem underscores a subtle yet crucial aspect of human intelligence: our ability to instantly prioritize relevant information. As we advance in AI development, solving this problem will be key to creating truly intelligent systems.
Got thoughts on tackling the frame problem? Share your ideas!

The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best AI and Machine Learning Certification Course
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are no longer just buzzwords—they’re driving forces behind innovation in industries from healthcare to finance. Whether you're looking to advance your career, pivot into tech, or gain hands-on expertise, finding the best AI and ML certification course is your first crucial step.
With the growing number of online platforms and institutions offering certifications, making the right choice can feel overwhelming. Some focus on theory with little real-world application, while others skip fundamentals in favor of trendy tools. This guide breaks down what truly matters when selecting the best AI and ML certification course, so you can invest your time and money wisely.
Why Certification Matters in AI and ML
AI and ML are fast-evolving fields. Employers often look for candidates who not only understand algorithms but can also implement models, evaluate performance, and work with data in real-world environments. A well-designed certification does more than decorate your resume—it signals your capability to do the job.
Certifications can also help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and hands-on experience, especially for professionals transitioning from non-technical roles.
Key Features to Look for in the Best AI and ML Certification Course
Not all certifications are created equal. Here’s what to watch for when evaluating programs:
1. Comprehensive Curriculum
A solid program should start with the basics—linear regression, classification algorithms, and data preprocessing—and gradually move to deep learning, neural networks, and deployment techniques. Courses that only touch on high-level concepts may leave learners struggling when faced with practical challenges.
Look for a curriculum that reflects current industry needs. The best AI and ML certification course will cover both foundational theory and the latest tools, including Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
2. Instructor Credentials and Teaching Style
The effectiveness of a course often depends on who’s teaching it. Instructors with real-world experience bring insights that go beyond textbooks. Check for credentials, industry background, and student feedback. Recorded previews or sample lessons can help gauge if their teaching style matches your learning preferences.
3. Hands-On Projects and Case Studies
Learning AI and ML without practical projects is like learning to swim by reading a manual. Choose a course that includes capstone projects, real-world datasets, and case studies across industries like finance, healthcare, and retail. The best AI and ML certification course will emphasize implementation, helping learners build a portfolio that showcases their skills.
Accreditation and Recognition
The credibility of a certification often depends on who’s backing it. University-affiliated programs or those offered through reputable platforms tend to hold more weight with employers. While not always necessary, an accredited certificate can set your resume apart in competitive job markets.
Also, consider industry-recognized names or partnerships—courses co-created with tech giants or taught by experts from leading universities tend to have stronger networks and alumni support.
Flexibility and Support
Time commitment and learning format matter. Do you need a self-paced course or thrive in a structured environment with deadlines? Some programs offer live sessions, peer discussion forums, or mentor support. This added guidance can be a game-changer, especially when tackling complex topics like neural networks or reinforcement learning.
The best AI and ML certification course adapts to different learning styles and provides timely feedback, helping students stay motivated and on track.
Who Should Enroll?
The good news is that AI and ML certification courses are now accessible to a wider range of learners. Whether you're a software developer, data analyst, recent graduate, or career changer, there's a course designed for your background and goals.
Beginners may benefit from programs with strong math and coding refreshers, while intermediate learners can opt for specialized tracks like Natural Language Processing or Computer Vision.
Midway through your research, it becomes clear that selecting the best AI and ML certification course isn’t just about name recognition—it’s about content quality, learning experience, and career applicability.
Conclusion: Making the Right Choice
Choosing the best AI and ML certification course can shape the future of your career. With thoughtful evaluation of content, flexibility, recognition, and value, you're more likely to find a program that not only teaches you but transforms your capabilities.
Remember, certifications aren't magic bullets—but the right one can open doors, sharpen skills, and give you the confidence to tackle real-world AI problems head-on.
Whether you're stepping into tech for the first time or leveling up your data science toolkit, the best AI and ML certification course is the one that equips you with practical skills, industry relevance, and long-term growth potential.
